STAFF EMPOWERMENTMANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENTPERFORMANCE MANAGEMENTCROSS CULTURAL ADAPTABILITY
For a UK brewery, we devised an assessment system with a specially designed feedback document that included no 'scores' but rather graphical representations of strengths and development needs for the individuals to use as a basis for their self development. The project involved:
  • conducting competency identification exercises for management and non management to create dimensions and behaviours to be assessed
  • design of 360° feedback surveys and user friendly report domuments
  • design and facilitation of feedback and development workshops
  • setting up an ongoing mechanism that ensures confidentiality

    This project was done in partnership with the deLafayette consultancy, London.




     
We helped a regional healthcare practice standardise senior management skills by incorporating their own competency dimensions and behavioural elements into our standard 'Best Management Practices' survey form and scoring system.

As a contributor to the development work being done by The Keil Centre, Edinburgh, we:
  • received and scored the surveys to ensure confidentiality
  • created feedback booklets for each manager to be used as part of their development workshop
In partnership with ASA Business Psychologists, London, we defined behaviourally anchored rating statements for each level of six career streams for a telecommunications consulting company. Working to very tight deadlines to meet their performance review commitments, we:
  • held group and individual interviews and worked from documentation available to produce over 700 behavioural statements
  • designed a useful format to present each career stream on a single page
  • designed and produced a core competency manual and user guide to accompany the performance review form
  • re-designed the performance review form
We were asked by tma, a cross-cultural training firm, to design a system to assess cross-cultural adaptability for their clients. Our involvement included:
  • identifying appropriate competencies from research and their client information
  • testing the items for comprehension to non-native English speakers and for validation of the items themselves
  • design of a 360° feedback format and comprehensive, attractive reporting mechanism
  • design of a feedback booklet and a personal development guide
  • development of an electronic version of the questionnaire
